CAT ISLAND
Cat Island,home toMount Alvernia,the highest point in the Bahamas at an astounding 63m(206ft) above sea level,is the sixth largest island in the Bahamain island chain.It is rumoured to have been named after Arthur Catt,the famous British sea captain,or from the hordes of wild cats that the English encountered here upon their arrival in the 1600s,depending on who you listen to.The cats where said to be descendants of those orphanes
